I usually keep politics and other things of heavy nature (except past bitching about my weight) off this blog.
But my sister sent me the words of Eve Ensler today and I had to read them. And read them again. And again. And again.
Then send them to a bunch of people.
Because...wow.
Also: Sarah Palin, please stop with the backcombing thing.

I'm not sure what backcombing means exactly but I do know that some of what was mentioned on Eve Ensler's id either taken out of context or exaggeration. This is a bummer because there's no need given here points are important and valid.
Anyhow, for some good Norris/Palin factoids see:

Palin is a second-generation neocon. What that means is this:
The first generation neocons knew what they were up to. They made no bones about keeping their activities hidden via distraction - specifically christian fundamentalism being into politics. these protagonists were the likes of cheney, regan, bush 1, and wolfowitz. More recent iterations have been rove and rice.
Palin is a second generation neocon - she actually believes that the distraction rhetoric that was used by the first generation neocons is in fact the real set of issues facing america today.
If she ends up in the naval observatory, we - as rational adult american citizens - need to be very afraid. Not just from her, but from the base of zealots she will empower. We can look forward to much more religious based violence, especially against gays and womens health care clinics.
She believes that the christian warriors need to initiate the Apocalypse in order to evoke the 2nd coming of christ. Her followers will do whatever is necessary to facilitate that.
Whatever your political leanings, it's clear that we don't know enough about Sarah Palin's character or personality to make any solid judgements. Little things are surfacing here and there both for and against her.
The big red flag for me is that the GOP is keeping her under wraps and she is sticking to the script that they have given her. That tells me that she is in no way ready for the office that she is running for and they are trying to keep her from revealing that.
If you have a chance, check out last week's Newsweek. There are several interesting articles about the GOP and Sarah Palin. Considering who they are, they have to fact-check before they publish, so the information is accurate.
