Brice Wu and I went to see Tennessee Williams' Cat on a Hot Tin Roof at the Paramount Theater. Before you go around thinking that this is normal behavior for Mandy; I assure you it is not. I am not a fan of the performing arts in that I don't habitually spectate. I will give money to small playhouses and acting troupes and starving musicians; but for many reasons I don't choose to patronize their acts.
Deep-seeded baggage about dramatic theater actors notwithstanding, I enjoyed myself.
The Paramount is a breathtaking theater with gilded details over soft blue jacquard. I think that it is a fine establishment for those who wear Mephistos and drive Volvo stationwagons; but how to get the college kids in?
Midnight screenings of The Rocky Horror Picture Show, that's how! Those shows have a cult following and I would definitely attend. I didn't stay awake for the whole movie when I watched it, but I have appreciation for the campy and macabre spectacle of a midnight screening, so I'm all for this slice of life. I might even drag some of my international friends from Darden to show them just how silly we can get.
Theater and awful weather aside; I can't believe I'm almost halfway through my MBA! Though it's kind of like having 15 laps to go in a criterium...you aren't a triumphant finisher until you're a triumphant finisher. So before the fat lady sings, this Vanderkitten needs to slink off to bed and prepare for another day of buckling down and gainin some knowledge. Yeehaw! (or, should I say, Meow!)
Speaking of "meow": KBS Medifast has seen the light and branched into new ventures.
Oh god don't they look silly? I sometimes forget just how funny we all look.

That's an awesome pic!
Don't worry Mandy, we've been having "Belgiumesque" spring weather here in Raleigh. Cold, rainy, overcast. It's gray outside right now. The roads are currently dry but that can change at any minute. Last Saturday, temp at 6am was 53F, temps dropped throughout the day, rain started with 35 miles to go on an 80 mile ride and no shortcuts home. It was in low 40's when I peeled the sopping wet clothes off my shivering body.
